Why did you start your company?
Ever since I planned my first fundraiser in college I knew that creating events was a specialty of mine - something that I loved to do, something that could make people smile, and something that could bring creativity to life.
After helping a friend plan and coordinate his wedding and wedding afterparty in 2003, I received a few inquiries as to why I haven't started planning events as a living. Though other friends and family had asked me the same question before it never really sank in until I heard it from partying strangers that I realized starting my own events company is something that would change my life for the better. Luckily I've had the chance to open and run my own events production company and I've been loving it ever since.
How long have you been planning weddings and events?
Easy answer? Since 2001. Lengthier answer? I was lucky enough to be placed in charge of planning and producing several creative and special events in 2001 including fundraisers and banquets. Because I enjoyed planning these events so much, it wasn't long before I was asked by several couples to plan their weddings. In 2002 I got the chance to plan and produce several weddings and discovered one of my many life passions. Soon thereafter I expanded my portfolio by planning symposiums and conferences for several organizations and businesses. I've been planning events ever since and each event has proven to be a unique experience that has resulted in a wonderful memory.
How many weddings and events do you plan each year?
One of my promises to my clients is my complete dedication - no other event interferes with your event. If it is a wedding, I have a maximum of one wedding per weekend. If it is a symposium over a few days, that entire week is blocked off for the event. Because of the close attention paid to each and every event I do keep the number of completed events to a minimum every year but this also allows me to keep the quality of my events above my clients' standards.
On average I plan around eight weddings a year, ten special events including fundraisers and celebrations, and twelve corporate events including conferences, seminars, and symposiums, all of which range from on-site to destination events.
Do you personally attend and coordinate every event?
Yes I personally plan, coordinate, and attend each and every one of my events. I also always personally attend every meeting with clients and vendors.
Do you charge for an initial meeting?
No I do not charge for an initial consultation. The initial meeting is usually a meeting of the minds to discuss what services I can provide, what services you seek, and essentially acts as an interview to ensure that you feel comfortable and confident in my skills and dedication to you and your event.
Who replaces you in the case you become ill or cannot make my event?
As an event planner professional I have a couple associates that I refer events to if I'm ever already booked and from whom I would ask assistance if I ever fell sick or had an emergency. But if it gives you a boost of confidence, I've never missed any wedding of event I've planned.
Do you earn additional commissions or referral fees from your recommended vendors?
Absolutely not. One of the main reasons clients love us is not only because we are able to provide them with discounted fees \with our recommended vendors but also because we are honest with our own fees - whatever we have quoted you is what we end up receiving. We do not ask for a referral fee or receive any sort of commission or compensation from vendors when they are hired.
Are you open to traveling for my wedding or event?
Absolutely! Currently we plan and produce events in Southern California, Northern California, and New York City. However we have planned events in the outer regions of Northern California and Central California. We always love traveling and would be more than happy to do so in order to make sure that your event or wedding is planned and created the way you want.
